Tray Dialer Version 1.0 ©1999 Kemsoft by Russ Kemsley What is Tray Dialer? ==================== Tray Dialer is a simple telephone dialer that resides on the Windows System Tray (otherwise known as the Notification Area). It allows instant access to, and dials, up to 102 phone numbers that you use frequently directly from the context menu (right-click) of the System Tray icon. Tray Dialer also remembers the last number dialed which can be redialed by double-clicking on the icon. Tray Dialer also allows you to manually dial any number quickly without needing to add an entry to your Speed Dial list. Requirements ============ Hard Drive One of the following Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 95 or higher Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 (i386) or higher Mouse or other pointing device Modem capable of dialing, connected to a voice line Windows Phone Dialer must be installed¤ ¤ Windows Phone Dialer is a component of Windows. It is installed by default so your computer probably already has it installed. If not, you can install it by: 1. Clicking Start|Settings|Control Panel. 2. Open Add/Remove Programs. 3. Click the 'Windows Setup' tab. 4. Double-click 'Communications'. 5. Check the box for 'Phone Dialer'. 6. Click OK and OK again. If prompted for the Windows CD-ROM, insert it into your CD-ROM drive and follow the prompts. To Install Tray Dialer: ======================= 1. If the file, VB40032.DLL is not already present on your computer, download the Visual Basic 4.0 Runtime files from: ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/VB4DLL.EXE. When you run VB4DLL.EXE, it will ask you where you want to unzip the files. Unzip them to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. 2. Unzip the contents of TrayDial.zip to a seperate folder on your hard disk. 3. From Windows Start Menu choose "Run..." 4. Type "C:\\setup" and click OK or press 5. You will be prompted for the folder you would like Tray Dialer installed in (default is \Program Files\TrayDial). 6. After installation, you may run Tray Dialer from the Start Menu. NOTE: If, during Setup, you receive access violation errors, always choose "Ignore". When installation is complete, if the program does not run properly, restart your computer and try running Setup again. This error will occur if some files that Setup is trying to copy are already on your computer and being used by some other program. Usually there are no adverse effects from clicking "Ignore" for each of these messages. On-line help is located in the Help Menu of the program or by pressing F1 from any of the program's dialog boxes.
